What has changed.
Every version, every change — since launch on 30 August 2026. The why is in the devlog, and what is being worked on right now is on the roadmap.
Pick it up and put it down
Tasks can now be dragged — and where they should go is answered by a bar that opens the moment you pick one up. On top of that, a rebuilt Appearance with more colours, and a fourth language.
- Drag instead of tap. Pick up a task and a bar appears along the bottom: Date, Project, Focus, Tags and Delete. Move onto a field and what lies behind it grows upwards — behind Upcoming, five weeks at once, with a dot under the figure where something already sits. Letting go is enough. On iPad the bar sits along the right edge in landscape, on Mac vertically beside the window.
- More colours, fewer menus. Settings › Appearance has been rebuilt: six new backgrounds, ten accent colours and a picker for one of your own, separate pages for the icon and the background, and a preview that shows every choice at once. Your accent colour now reaches into the widgets and onto the watch face.
- Hobba speaks Japanese. The fourth language — and titles are read the same way there: Hobba recognises dates, times, deadlines and repeats in Japanese just as it does in English.
- Projects with one swipe. Swipe a project row in the overview to the left: the glass draws back and frees a “•••” — favourite, appearance, share and delete.
- One thing at a time, in its own window. On the Mac, focus no longer lies over everything; it opens a small window beside your work. And the fifteen minutes are back: 5, 15 or 25 are there to choose everywhere.
- It keeps moving. Push the same task away from today for the fourth time and a line appears in the card: “Postponed 4 times already. Break it up or set it aside?” Two handles beside it — no sound, no sheet.
- Widgets that fill a whole page. From iOS 27: every event of the day instead of two, twice as many task rows — and you can tick things off without opening the app. On iPad the same ones in the wide format, in two columns. The size can now be changed right on the Home Screen. Plus a new project board that shows every list with its progress.
- Small things: the “Add task” shortcut now reads your text the way the entry field would, empty lists tell you how they fill up, and system search stays fresh even when iOS rebuilds its index.
- Fixed: a task with “Saturday” in its title quietly got a reminder at twelve noon. In French, times like “10h” were read over. On iPhone the search field sat behind the Dynamic Island. In the overview a dropped task could land in the wrong list after scrolling. And leaving a board or the week grid for the overview no longer costs a pause.
Three languages, and nothing stays invisible
Hobba now speaks French. And Today finally says what it used to keep quiet: that something is still sitting in the Inbox. Read it in the devlog →
- Hobba speaks French. The whole interface is now available in French as well — Hobba follows the language set on your device.
- The Inbox becomes visible. At the foot of Today you now see how much is sitting unsorted in the Inbox — tap it to go there. Today only shows what has a day; anything arriving without one stayed invisible. In the tile view too.
- The evening review asks about it too. The Inbox appears in the sheet as a section of its own, with the same three handles. Tasks due today still sit at the top.
- The focus timer on the Lock Screen. When a timer of five or 25 minutes runs in One Thing at a Time, the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island show how long is left. The notification at the end stays as it was — this is the view of it, not the alarm.
- Double tap on the watch. From Series 9 and Ultra 2 on: thumb and index finger together. In the list it opens a new task; in an open task it ticks it off.
- Fixed: With appearance set to “System”, the background stayed dark on a light device while everything above it was light. One Thing at a Time pushed its header into the status bar. The iCloud ring fell in from above on every beat instead of growing in place — and after a cold start it did not beat at all. In the rain a drop counted as a second finger: dragging the “+” across the list selected tasks along the way. And the paywall now calls the tile view by its name.
Together, and at a glance
The biggest release since launch: projects can be shared, lists look the way you need them, and tasks come out of what is already there — a sentence, a photo, a place. Read it in the devlog →
- Share projects. Menu top right › Share, invitation by message. Whoever accepts sees and edits the same project, attachments come along. When inviting you can pick “read only” — then the invitee really cannot change anything.
- Tile view. A third view next to list and board: a grid of cards, switchable per list. Tiles can be dragged like the favourites.
- Places in the overview. Every saved place appears with what is waiting there — split by arriving and leaving.
- Dictation. A microphone in the entry sheet; speech becomes text on your device. With Apple Intelligence one sentence splits into several tasks. iOS 26 and later.
- Tasks from photos, PDFs and text. Attach a photo of a list or a set of minutes, then “read tasks from this” — recognised on device, and only what you tap is kept.
- Tags as context lists and your own smart lists from tag, project and time range — selectable in widgets too.
- “Evening” and the evening review. What is only due after hours sits in its own pane. From a time you choose, Today asks once what is left.
- The day as a band. In the tiles of Today, events appear as coloured lenses, with the gaps between them and a line saying what is running now.
- Small things: an emoji at the start of a title becomes the row's symbol, repetition is available when creating a task, widgets follow light and dark, and tapping a reminder takes you to the task.
Making it easier to start
The biggest release so far: 28 entries, all of them about the moment a list gets too long and you would rather look away. Read it in the devlog →
- Too much for today? When more is open in Today than you set for yourself, the list asks once a day, quietly. “Pick three”: what you mark stays, the rest moves to tomorrow.
- One thing at a time. Exactly one task, large, with a timer for 5 or 25 minutes that reports back even from the background.
- Break it into steps. In the open card, Apple Intelligence suggests steps — the first one is the smallest possible start. Only what you accept is saved.
- Quick ones. A list for everything that takes five minutes: tag it #quick or write “5 min” in the title. Plus a widget holding exactly one of them, tickable on the spot.
- Upcoming as a week board. A board whose columns are days, with one column for everything later.
- Remind me at a place. A reminder on arriving at or leaving a place — even when Hobba is not running, and on every visit while the task is open. Saved places like “Home” are there as quick picks.
- Wake me loudly. Important reminders ring as a real alarm if you want — through the silent switch and through Focus. iOS 26 and later.
- Tags as lists. Every tag is a list of its own: everything carrying it, across all projects.
- Deadlines speak up. On the morning of the lead day and again on the day itself — without opening the list.
- Your week. A quiet card above the log: completed over seven days, best day, streak. No karma, no comparison.
- Hobba lives in the system. Open tasks in Spotlight, “New task” in Control Centre, on the Lock Screen and the Action button too.
- Attachments while creating — and from other apps, images and files. Part of Hobba Pro.
- One bar for searching and asking. “Ask Hobba” lives in search; the same field filters results and takes the question.
- Minimal style without glass, widgets in black, eight new app icons, a trash that empties when you say so — and the date as the heading above the overview.
- Fixed: automatic merging of duplicates is off — it could delete tasks for good. Duplicates now stay visible and can be cleared by hand. Also: no more crash when another device deletes an open row; widgets no longer touch the database; attachments retry a failed upload on their own.
One day after launch
The first release after shipping — with the thing that was missed most. Read it in the devlog →
- Attachments. Images, scans and files on tasks and projects. Camera and document scanner start straight from the card. Part of Hobba Pro.
- Copy and paste. ⌘C and ⌘V move tasks between lists, ⇧⌘C takes the link, ⌘Z undoes.
- Dictation arrives in the background too. Whatever Siri puts into the watched Reminders list, Hobba fetches into the Inbox on its own.
- Drag to another day in Upcoming — an empty one included.
- The sync dot tells the truth. Orange with no connection, red when it is stuck. Before it stayed green and said “syncing …” forever.
- Fixed: subtasks could not be deleted at all. The widget showed deleted tasks. The purchase screen opened invisibly behind Settings.
The beginning
Hobba arrives on the App Store — after the open TestFlight beta that ran through August. Why Hobba exists →
- Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Someday — and projects that turn into a kanban board whenever you want.
- The “+” is dragged, not tapped. Hold it and drag it where the task belongs: between two rows, into a section, into a column.
- The title reads along. “Call the dentist tomorrow at 9” puts date and time on the task right away.
- iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch in one purchase, with Family Sharing. Sync through your own iCloud.
- No account, no subscription, no tracking. No servers of ours for your tasks to travel through.
