Roadmap
What’s next.
Hobba is built by one person. This is what’s being worked on right now and what comes after — as intent, not as a date. Missing something? hobba@rinn-home.de
Version 1.6 · in progress, order open
The Mac learns a few things, and so does dragging
What is being worked on. The order is not settled, and not all of it will land in the same release.
-
Menu bar and quick capture on the Mac. An icon at the top right, and an entry field you can open from anywhere — without hunting for the window first.
-
A right-click menu for tasks. Date, project, tags, done and delete, without opening the task first — the way you expect it on a Mac.
-
A task becomes a subtask. On iPhone, iPad and Mac: drag one task onto another, and it becomes one of its steps.
Version 1.5 · released September 27, 2026
Pick it up and put it down
Tasks can be dragged, and a bar says where to. On top of that, more colours and a fourth language. The details are in the changelog.
- Drag and drop. A bar with date, project, focus, tags and delete — on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
- More colours, fewer menus. Six new backgrounds, ten accent colours — right into the widgets and onto the watch face.
- Hobba speaks Japanese. The fourth language, date parsing included.
- Widgets that fill a whole page, and a new project board.
Version 1.4 · released September 15, 2026
Three languages, and nothing stays invisible
Hobba now speaks French, and Today says when something is still sitting in the Inbox. The detail is in the changelog, the story behind it in the devlog.
- Hobba speaks French. The third language after German and English — Hobba follows the language set on your device.
- The Inbox becomes visible. At the foot of Today and in the evening review you see how much is waiting unsorted.
- The focus timer on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- Double tap on the watch. From Series 9 and Ultra 2 on.
Deliberately not
What Hobba won’t get
- Time blocking. Hobba shows your appointments, but it won’t schedule your day. A full calendar is the opposite of “Too much for today?”.
- Priority levels. P1 to P4 make every card louder. A tag like #important does the job, and the tag list collects it.
- Karma and streaks as a permanent fixture. “Your week” shows the week and then steps back.
- A subscription. One purchase, forever, with Family Sharing.
- An account or a vendor server. Your tasks live with you and in your iCloud.
